2016

The Last Class was my commencement address to the Winter 2016 graduating class of ITT Tech in Oklahoma City, the last class that will ever graduate from ITT Tech.  Because of the Federal shutdown of the program these students were originally not going to have a ceremony but a number of their faculty & staff got together to give them one.  Below are my notes:

# Fall 2016 Graduating Class

The last ITT Tech graduates ever:

* 70 million in bank
* 130 campus
* 40,000 students
* Fully accredited
* 10s of thousands of graduates

There are 2 things I hope you have developed at ITT, and will pusuit the rest of your life.

* Something demonstrated, a habit learned
* Something found, a direction for your values

## Persistance

> You never fail a race you never stop running,
and you never loose a fight if never stop swinging
• Me

Only you remember:

* Late nights
* Homework
* Sick Days
* Time away from your family
* The frustration, the fears, and fight you had in yourself to succeed

> Don’t ever give up.
Don’t ever give in.
Don’t ever stop trying.
Don’t ever sell out.
And if you find yourself succumbing to one of the above for a brief moment,
pick yourself up, brush yourself off, whisper a prayer, and start where you left off.
But never, ever, ever give up.
• Richelle E. Goodrich

## Passion

Have you found your passion?

* To help and heal people
* To develop the future our children will live in
* To learn and enjoy your chosen career

Passion and success go hand in hand because:

> œSuccess doesn’t come to you; you go to it. • T. Scott McLeod

and

> Passion is the process of moving towards something you love, not away from something hate.
• Me

## Why?

“Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.
• Mahatma Gandhi
